Reservations

How to reserve your Whale Watching or Fishing trips in Loreto with The Baja Big Fish Company…

… IN JUST 5 EASY STEPS!

STEP 1: Decide when you would like to travel to Loreto

  • Whale Watching is in: February and March
  • Peak Sport Fishing Months are: late Mar – April (Yellowtail) and late June through August (Dorado, Billfish)

Are you coming to Loreto to fish or will you be visiting to whale watch or do other activities?

  • You are coming to Loreto for whale watching: February and March are ideal for off Loreto and Pacific Grey Whales
  • You are coming to Loreto for the fishing: Our suggestion is if you want to target a certain species then its best to come when those species are biting. I’m talking about having a look at our species calendar to help you decide. Our month by month climate descriptions are also helpful. Our conventional and fly fishing reports are current and a good way to monitor the bite.

If you would like more information just contact us with your questions.

STEP 2: Book your airline tickets to Loreto because we have limited air service.

Loreto currently has limited air service and is only served by Alaska Air Lines. Alaska uses its subsidiary Horizon Air fly into Loreto (LTO) from Los Angeles, CA. (LAX).   Book your tickets on Alaska’s website, www.alaskaair.com

STEP 3: Reserve your whale watching excursion or fishing trip by booking your boats

If you will be traveling from February through August, then we suggest you check with us for availability. The Baja Big Fish Company’s service is legendary and we book up and close dates. When you’re ready to book your whale watching excursions or fishing, just fill out our reservations form.

STEP 4: Decide where you would like to stay and book the accommodations

There are plenty of accommodations in Loreto. In fact there are more rooms available than tourists so you have the buyer’s advantage. Once your flight is booked and your boats are reserved with us the next step is to secure some accommodations. This link is a great place to start and lists the individual hotel websites, pricing and the prestigious Baja Big Fish Company fish-ability rating. Remember if you have specific questions just ask!

STEP 5: Confirmed and Accounted For

You don’t have an official reservation with The Baja Big Fish Company unless we confirm your mode of travel, accommodations, charter reservation and have set up your account. We send out quotes but a confirmed reservation is only written in our stone reservation book when your account is set up. Deposits are required for some reservations and pre-payments with deposit are required for high season June through August reservations. If you believe that you should have an account with us please contact us immediately.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

ALERT!
air service to Loreto is limited

Alaska Air Lines/Horizon Air- flies to Loreto from the USA and they serve Loreto (LTO) from Los Angeles, (LAX) only FIVE days a week (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday).
Cal Jet is a newly added service that comes from LAX (and back) on Saturdays.

We suggest your first step after deciding your travel dates is to book your seat on one of our limited scheduled flights.

There are PLENTY of accommodations in Loreto so room will not be an issue.
