Loreto enjoys two distinct fishing seasons: winter when Yellowtail are the main target species, and summer when the Dorado are the main target species. I brought a Daiwa Saltist® Lever Drag 2-Speed Conventional Reel and rod combo down to Loreto to use for the first time this summer and had a great time using this new small form factor reel. Daiwa is going head to head with Accurate with these small but powerful reels. I will warn everyone in advance, that you will get some boat captains looking at you funny when you suggest you are using these small reels to bring in the big YTs, but the reels are really well made and easily stand up to the abuse. Highly recommended.
