RESULTS OF THE 2013 GREAT LORETO YELLOWTAIL TOURNAMENT:
THE RULES of this tournament are three fish per team in each of two divisions are allowed to be weighed in each tournament fishing day. This year’s tournament was limited to one competitive fishing day due to the weather. Weights are in kilograms and fish “under 10 pounds” were disqualified. Under weight fish were not added into the total weight of that division’s catch for that team.

SECOND PLACE- TEAM JIGS UP! *TOTAL WEIGHT = 38.8 KG, PAY-OUT $19,652.17 PESOS CASH
THIRD PLACE- TEAM TRIPUI AMIGOS *TOTAL WEIGHT = 35.8 KG, PAY-OUT $9,826.52 PESOS CASH

The Day One Jackpot was rolled over to Day Two so all the money rested on the results of one single yellowtail. That $57,800.00 peso fish weighed 15.8 KG and was brought in by TEAM JIGS UP!

THE GLYT 2013 HAD TWO DAYS OF-
three daily optional Jackpots for $1,000, $500, and $200 pesos each. Each day the largest weighed-in yellowtail of those entered into the jackpot, wins the cash in that jackpot. The first day of the GLYT 2013 was canceled due to unsafe sea conditions, so Friday’s jackpot rolled into the second day. Saturday’s Jackpot paid off $27,800.00 Pesos ($5,026.08 US Dollars). The winning yellowtail weighed 15.8 kg and was caught by TEAM JIGS UP!

TWO winning teams (33%) were locals who used their private boats, these were larger boats not pangas.
FOUR of the winning teams (66%) were participants who hired loretano captains and fished in locally registered pangas
TWO of the winning teams (33%) were participants who chartered their boat and captain through The Baja Big Fish Company
